The Oaks at Twin Lakes is a proposed development to be located on State Road 31, near Palm Beach Boulevard. The 37 acre parcel is nestled in the beautiful rural community of Fort Myers Shores.
The proposed mixed-use development will be a combination of multi-family dwelling units and light commercial/retail use. With two preserve areas, the site has been designed to incorporate the natural features of the property with extra attention to preservation of the existing oak hammock, wetlands, and lake.
Fronting State Road 31, the commercial area encompasses 11.5 acres of the property and will comprise 52,000 square feet of light commercial/retail space. The residential community will encompass the remaining 25 acres. Both two and three story multi-family buildings are proposed, providing 150 residential units. The buildings will
be positioned around two centrally located lakes, each just over 2 acres in size. In addition, there will be a clubhouse and swimming pool amenities area.
The development will be accessible via 2 entrances. Once entrance will be along SR31, and the other will connect with Palm Beach Boulevard through the adjacent commercial property to the south. The site plan allows for ample convenient parking for customers, residents, and guests.
Rezoning from Agricultural (AG-2) to Mixed-Use Planned Development (MPD) will be completed in 2008 through Lee County Development Services . The developer will also receive permits from South Florida Water Management District and Florida Department of Transportation in 2008.
